UPPER CABINET SOFFIT
When frameless cabinets have a soffit above the upper cabinets, a top valance and shadow line can reduce the dark line and lessen the appearance of inconsistencies of a drywalled soffit. Adding a Crown above the cabinets that are flush with the door face adds a custom, modern look.

- ½” between upper cabinet and soffit
SHADOW LINE
- Constructed of ½” thick random material with black face tape
- Set back ¾” from cabinet case face
TOP VALANCE
- ⅝” material flush with case
- Minimum of ¾” and maximum of 2⅛” high
- Attaches with a cleat in the field
CROWN
- ¾” door material flush with door
- Minimum of ¾” and maximum of 2⅛” high
- Attaches with cleats in the field
